Tatreez

Terms of Service

Effective 10 October 2026 · Last updated 10 October 2026

These Terms of Service ("Terms") are an agreement between you and Amanne Alkenni, doing business as Min Amanne Tatreez Designs ("Min Amanne," "we," "us," or "our"). They cover the Tatreez website at tatreez.app, the Tatreez apps for iPhone, iPad, and Mac, the web studio, the community, and the services behind them (together, the "Service").

Please read these Terms carefully. Section 15 requires most disputes to be resolved by individual binding arbitration, not in court, and waives class actions and jury trials. Section 15.7 explains how to opt out of arbitration within 30 days.

1. Agreeing to these Terms

You accept these Terms when you tap or click "Agree," create an account, or use the Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

Our Privacy Policy and Community Guidelines are part of these Terms. The Privacy Policy explains what we collect and why, including the usage analytics described in Section 9.

If you use the Service on behalf of an organization, you confirm you are authorized to accept these Terms for it.

2. Who can use the Service

You must be at least 13 years old. If you are under 18, or under the age of majority where you live, a parent or guardian must agree to these Terms for you and is responsible for your use.

You may not use the Service if you are barred from doing so under the laws that apply to you, or if we have previously suspended or removed your account.

3. The Service

Tatreez is a cross-stitch design and stitching tool. You can design patterns, import photos and charts, track your stitching, export charts, and share designs with the community.

  • Free tier. You can use part of the Service for free, with limits shown in the Service. We may change what the free tier includes.
  • Pro. Tatreez Studio Pro unlocks more of the Service, as described in Section 5.
  • Changes. We may add, change, or remove features, and we may suspend or stop all or part of the Service, at any time. Where a change materially reduces what a paid plan includes, we will tell you in advance where we reasonably can.
  • Your copies. Designs may be stored on your device and, if you have Pro, synced to our servers. We are not responsible for lost designs, including from deleting the app, losing a device, a sync problem, or an outage. Export anything important regularly as a .tatreez file.
  • Craft results. Charts, thread matches, stitch counts, and estimates are aids, not guarantees. Check them before buying materials or starting a project.

4. Accounts

You need an account for Pro, sync, and community features. Keep your sign-in details secure; you are responsible for everything done through your account. Give us accurate information and keep it up to date. Do not share your account, sell it, or create accounts to get around limits, suspensions, or bans.

You can delete your account in the iPhone, iPad, and Mac apps, or by emailing support@minamanne.com.

5. Tatreez Studio Pro and payments

Plans. Pro is offered as a monthly subscription, an annual subscription, and a one-time lifetime purchase. Prices and what each plan includes are shown before you buy.

Where you buy. You can buy Pro through Apple's App Store or on tatreez.app through our payment processor, Stripe. A purchase through Apple is governed by Apple's terms as well as these Terms. Pro bought in one place unlocks the Service wherever you sign in with the same account.

Automatic renewal. Monthly and annual subscriptions renew automatically at the then-current price until you cancel. For App Store purchases, cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period in your Apple ID subscription settings. For web purchases, cancel at any time from the Account page on tatreez.app; cancellation takes effect at the end of the period you have paid for. Deleting your account or the app does not cancel an App Store subscription.

Free trials. If a plan includes a free trial, you will be charged when the trial ends unless you cancel before then. We may limit trials to one per person.

Price changes. We may change prices. A new price applies to a subscription from its next renewal after we tell you about it, and you can cancel before then.

Lifetime. "Lifetime" means Pro for as long as we offer the Service and Pro, and as long as your account remains in good standing. It is not a promise to run the Service forever.

Refunds. App Store purchases are refunded only by Apple, under Apple's policies. Web purchases are non-refundable except where the law requires otherwise, or where we decide to issue a refund. Where the law gives you a right to withdraw from a purchase of digital content, you agree that Pro starts immediately on purchase and, to the extent the law allows, that you lose the right to withdraw once it starts.

Taxes. Prices may not include taxes, which you are responsible for where they apply.

6. Your content

"Your Content" means the designs, photos, charts, text, comments, discussion threads and replies, chat messages, profile details, and anything else you add to the Service.

  • You keep ownership of Your Content.
  • License to us. You grant Min Amanne a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, transferable, and sublicensable license to host, store, copy, process, adapt (for example, to make thumbnails or to convert formats), display, and distribute Your Content, only as needed to operate, secure, improve, and promote the Service. For private designs, that means storing and syncing them for you. For content you publish to the community, it also means showing it to others and letting other users save copies. The license for published content continues for copies other users have already saved, and for a reasonable time while removed content is cleared from backups.
  • Your promises. You confirm you own Your Content or have the rights needed to share it, and that it does not infringe anyone's rights or break any law or these Terms.
  • Saved community designs. A design you save from someone else is for your personal, non-commercial use unless its creator says otherwise in the Service.
  • Moderation. We may review, screen, refuse, or remove any content, and we may do so automatically. We are not obligated to monitor content, and we are not responsible for content posted by others.

7. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Break our Community Guidelines or any law
  • Harass, threaten, impersonate, or harm anyone
  • Post content you don't have the right to post, or that infringes anyone's rights
  • Upload malware, or try to disrupt, overload, probe, or gain unauthorized access to the Service or its systems
  • Reverse engineer, decompile, or copy the Service, except where the law expressly allows it despite this restriction
  • Get around paid features, limits, or security, including with modified clients or shared accounts
  • Scrape, crawl, or bulk-download content or data from the Service, or use it to train machine-learning models, without our written permission
  • Resell, sublicense, or commercially exploit the Service or premium content without our written permission

7A. Discussions and chat

Discuss and chat are for people who love tatreez. When you use them, you also agree to:

  • Be kind. Disagree with ideas, not people. No insults, hate, or harassment, including about anyone's heritage, region, faith, or skill.
  • Credit makers. Don't post someone else's chart, photo, or design as your own. Attach the published design or name its designer.
  • Stay on topic and don't spam. No repeated posts, unsolicited advertising, or links to sell things.
  • Respect privacy. Don't share other people's personal information, or screenshots of private messages, without their permission.
  • Respect "no". Direct messages to people who don't follow you arrive as a request. If they ignore it, decline it, or block you, don't contact them again another way.

Threads, replies, topic rooms, and design chats are public to members. Direct messages and group chats are private to the people in them, but they are not end-to-end encrypted. We may review messages that are reported or flagged automatically, and remove them. Replies and threads with enough reports from members are hidden until we review them. Our moderators can pin, lock, or remove threads, replies, and messages. A designer can remove messages and people in the chat for their own design. We may mute or ban anyone from chat or discussions. Blocking someone hides them from you in both places.

8. Our content and intellectual property

The Service, including its software, design, text, the Min Amanne and Tatreez names and branding, premium patterns, curated and original motifs, and the arrangement of our motif library, belongs to Min Amanne or our licensors and is protected by intellectual property laws. Subject to these Terms, we give you a personal, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the Service for your own use. Anything not expressly granted is reserved.

Traditional Palestinian tatreez motifs belong to a shared cultural heritage. We do not claim ownership of traditional motifs in the public domain; our rights cover our own charts, adaptations, curation, and presentation of them.

If you send us feedback or ideas, we may use them freely without paying you or crediting you.

9. Usage analytics

To run and improve the Service, we collect information about how it is used, including through our analytics provider Mixpanel. This includes the pages and features you use, designs you create (their source and size, never their contents), stitching sessions, upgrade screens you see, purchases, and device and approximate location information, linked to a random account or device ID. We do not send your name, email address, or designs to Mixpanel, and we do not use analytics for advertising. The Privacy Policy has the details.

By agreeing to these Terms you acknowledge this collection. You can turn usage analytics off at any time on the Account page on the website or under About in the apps, and you can keep using the Service with it off.

10. Third-party services

The Service relies on others, including Apple, Google, Stripe, RevenueCat, Supabase, Stream (which runs chat), and hosting providers. Your use of their services is governed by their terms. We are not responsible for third-party services, websites, or content, including links in user profiles.

11. Suspension and termination

You may stop using the Service at any time. We may suspend or end your access, remove content, or delete an account, with or without notice, if we reasonably believe you have broken these Terms or the law, created risk or legal exposure for us or others, or if we stop offering the Service. If we end a paid plan for reasons other than your breach, we will refund the unused part of a web subscription where the law requires it.

Sections 6 (the license for content already shared), 8, and 12 through 18 survive termination.

12. Disclaimers

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE," WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS, IMPLIED, OR STATUTORY. TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, MIN AMANNE DISCLAIMS ALL WARRANTIES, INCLUDING IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, AND ANY WARRANTIES ARISING FROM COURSE OF DEALING OR USAGE OF TRADE.

WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, SECURE, OR ERROR-FREE; THAT DESIGNS OR DATA WILL BE PRESERVED OR SYNCED WITHOUT LOSS; THAT CHARTS, COLOR MATCHES, STITCH COUNTS, OR ESTIMATES WILL BE ACCURATE; OR THAT COMMUNITY CONTENT WILL BE ACCURATE, LAWFUL, OR APPROPRIATE. YOU USE THE SERVICE AT YOUR OWN RISK.

SOME JURISDICTIONS DO NOT ALLOW CERTAIN WARRANTY DISCLAIMERS, SO SOME OF THE ABOVE MAY NOT APPLY TO YOU.

13. Limitation of liability

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW:

(a) NEITHER MIN AMANNE NOR ANY OF THE MIN AMANNE PARTIES (DEFINED IN SECTION 14) WILL BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, REVENUE, DATA, DESIGNS, GOODWILL, OR MATERIALS, OR FOR THE COST OF SUBSTITUTE SERVICES, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO THE SERVICE OR THESE TERMS, HOWEVER CAUSED AND UNDER ANY THEORY OF LIABILITY, EVEN IF ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.

(b) THE TOTAL LIABILITY OF MIN AMANNE AND THE MIN AMANNE PARTIES FOR ALL CLAIMS ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO THE SERVICE OR THESE TERMS IS LIMITED TO THE GREATER OF (I) THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US FOR THE SERVICE IN THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE EVENT GIVING RISE TO THE CLAIM, OR (II) US $50.

(c) THESE LIMITS ARE AN ESSENTIAL PART OF THE BARGAIN BETWEEN US AND APPLY EVEN IF A REMEDY FAILS OF ITS ESSENTIAL PURPOSE.

Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, such as liability for fraud, for willful injury, or, where the law does not allow it to be limited, for gross negligence or death or personal injury caused by negligence.

14. Release and indemnity

Min Amanne Parties means Min Amanne; Amanne Alkenni personally; Min Amanne Tatreez Designs; any company that succeeds to or takes over the Service, including any limited liability company we form; and the owners, members, officers, employees, contractors, agents, licensors, and service providers of each of them.

Release. The community is made up of independent people, and we are not responsible for what they do. To the fullest extent permitted by law, you release the Min Amanne Parties from all claims, demands, and damages of every kind, known and unknown, arising out of or connected with disputes between you and other users, or with content posted by others. If you are a California resident, you waive California Civil Code Section 1542, which says: "A general release does not extend to claims that the creditor or releasing party does not know or suspect to exist in his or her favor at the time of executing the release and that, if known by him or her, would have materially affected his or her settlement with the debtor or released party." You waive any similar law elsewhere.

Indemnity. To the fullest extent permitted by law, you will defend, indemnify, and hold harmless the Min Amanne Parties from and against all claims, losses, liabilities, damages, judgments, fines, costs, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of or related to Your Content, your use or misuse of the Service, your breach of these Terms, or your violation of any law or anyone else's rights. We may take over the defense of any matter at your expense, and you will cooperate with us. You may not settle a matter that affects us without our written consent.

15. Disputes: informal resolution, binding individual arbitration, and class action waiver

15.1 Talk to us first. Before starting any arbitration or court case, you and we each agree to try to resolve the dispute informally. The party with the dispute must send a written notice describing it, the relief sought, and their contact details: to us at support@minamanne.com, and to you at the email address on your account. Both sides will make a good-faith effort to resolve it, including, if either side asks, a call or video meeting where you take part personally. Neither side may start arbitration or a court case until 60 days after the notice is received. Any limitations period is paused during those 60 days.

15.2 Agreement to arbitrate. If the dispute is not resolved, you and Min Amanne agree that any dispute, claim, or controversy arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service, including its formation, scope, validity, or enforceability ("Claim"), will be resolved by final and binding individual arbitration, not in court. This agreement to arbitrate covers Claims against the Min Amanne Parties as well. It is governed by the Federal Arbitration Act.

15.3 Exceptions. Either side may (a) bring an individual Claim in small claims court if it qualifies and stays there on an individual basis; (b) seek an injunction in court to stop actual or threatened infringement or misuse of intellectual property; and (c) bring a Claim for public injunctive relief where the law does not permit that Claim to be arbitrated. Any such public injunctive relief Claim will be stayed until the individual Claims are arbitrated.

15.4 How arbitration works. Arbitration will be administered by the American Arbitration Association ("AAA") under its Consumer Arbitration Rules and, where they apply, its Mass Arbitration Supplementary Rules, as modified by this Section 15. The rules are at adr.org. A single arbitrator will decide the Claim. Unless the arbitrator finds you cannot do so without undue burden, hearings will be held by video or phone, or in the county where you live, and Claims for US $10,000 or less may be decided on written submissions. We will pay the filing, administrative, and arbitrator fees that the AAA rules and applicable law require us to pay. The arbitrator may award the same individual relief a court could award, and must follow these Terms, including Sections 13 and 14. Judgment on the award may be entered in any court with jurisdiction.

15.5 Class action and jury trial waiver. YOU AND MIN AMANNE MAY BRING CLAIMS AGAINST EACH OTHER ONLY IN AN INDIVIDUAL CAPACITY, AND NOT AS A PLAINTIFF OR CLASS MEMBER IN ANY CLASS, COLLECTIVE, CONSOLIDATED, OR REPRESENTATIVE PROCEEDING. The arbitrator may not consolidate more than one person's Claims or preside over any form of class or representative proceeding, and may award relief only to the individual party seeking it and only to the extent needed for that party's individual Claim. YOU AND MIN AMANNE EACH WAIVE THE RIGHT TO A JURY TRIAL.

15.6 Mass filings. If 25 or more similar Claims are brought against us by or with the help of the same or coordinated lawyers or organizations, they will be administered in batches of up to 25 Claims each (one batch per arbitrator), and the next batch will not be filed or administered until the previous one is resolved, to the extent the AAA rules allow. Limitations periods are paused for Claims waiting for their batch. A court may decide disputes about this Section 15.6.

15.7 Opting out. You may opt out of this agreement to arbitrate by emailing support@minamanne.com, with the subject line "Arbitration opt-out," within 30 days after you first agree to these Terms. Include your name and your account email, if you have one. Opting out does not affect any other part of these Terms, including Section 15.1, and does not affect any earlier arbitration agreement with us.

15.8 If part of this section fails. If the class action waiver in Section 15.5 is found unenforceable for a Claim, that Claim (and only that Claim) will be decided in court, not arbitration, and the jury trial waiver still applies to it as far as the law allows. If any other part of this Section 15 is found unenforceable, the rest still applies.

15.9 Time limit to bring a Claim. To the fullest extent permitted by law, any Claim must be brought within one year after it arises. Otherwise it is permanently barred.

15.10 Changes to this section. If we change this Section 15, the change will not apply to a Claim that was already pending or that we had already been notified of.

16. Governing law and venue

These Terms and any Claim are governed by the laws of the State of California and applicable United States federal law, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. For any Claim not subject to arbitration, you and we agree to the exclusive jurisdiction of the state and federal courts located in the State of California.

If you live in a country whose laws give you consumer protections that cannot be waived by contract, nothing in these Terms takes those protections away.

17. Apple App Store terms

If you got the app from Apple's App Store, these terms also apply:

  • These Terms are between you and Min Amanne only, not Apple. Min Amanne, not Apple, is solely responsible for the app and its content.
  • Your license to the app is limited to using it on Apple-branded products that you own or control, as allowed by the Usage Rules in the Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions, except that it may also be accessed by other accounts associated with you through Family Sharing or volume purchasing where available.
  • Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for the app.
  • If the app fails to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple will refund the purchase price of the app, if any. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Apple has no other warranty obligation for the app. Any other claims, losses, liabilities, damages, costs, or expenses from a failure to conform to a warranty are Min Amanne's responsibility, to the extent not disclaimed in these Terms.
  • Min Amanne, not Apple, is responsible for addressing any claims by you or any third party relating to the app or your possession or use of it, including product liability claims, claims that the app fails to conform to any legal or regulatory requirement, and claims under consumer protection, privacy, or similar laws.
  • If a third party claims that the app or your possession and use of it infringes their intellectual property rights, Min Amanne, not Apple, is responsible for the investigation, defense, settlement, and discharge of that claim.
  • You confirm that you are not located in a country subject to a US Government embargo or designated as a "terrorist supporting" country, and that you are not on any US Government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
  • You must comply with applicable third-party terms when using the app.
  • Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and, once you accept them, may enforce them against you.

18. General terms

Changes to these Terms. We may update these Terms. We will post the new version here with a new date. For material changes we will ask you to agree again in the Service, and if you do not agree, you must stop using the Service. Other changes take effect when posted, and continuing to use the Service means you accept them.

Assignment. You may not transfer these Terms or your account without our written consent. We may assign or transfer these Terms, in whole or in part, without your consent, including to a limited liability company or other entity we form to run the Service, or in a sale, merger, or reorganization. These Terms then continue to bind you and benefit that successor.

Entire agreement. These Terms, with the Privacy Policy, the Community Guidelines, and any terms shown when you buy, are the entire agreement between you and us about the Service, and replace any earlier version of these Terms.

Severability and waiver. If any part of these Terms is found unenforceable, it will be enforced to the maximum extent permissible and the rest of the Terms will remain in effect. Our failure to enforce any part of these Terms is not a waiver of it.

No agency. Nothing in these Terms creates a partnership, joint venture, employment, or agency relationship between you and us.

Force majeure. We are not responsible for delays or failures caused by events beyond our reasonable control, including outages of hosting or third-party services, natural disasters, war, or government action.

Export. You will comply with US and other applicable export control and sanctions laws when using the Service.

Electronic communications. You agree that we may send notices and other communications electronically, by email or in the Service, and that they satisfy any legal requirement that a communication be in writing.

California users. Under California Civil Code Section 1789.3, California users are entitled to the following notice: the Complaint Assistance Unit of the Division of Consumer Services of the California Department of Consumer Affairs can be reached in writing at 1625 North Market Blvd., Suite N 112, Sacramento, CA 95834, or by phone at (916) 445-1254 or (800) 952-5210.

19. Copyright complaints

If you believe content on the Service infringes your copyright, email our copyright agent at dmca@minamanne.com with:

  1. The copyrighted work you claim is infringed
  2. The material you believe infringes it, with enough detail for us to find it (for example, the post title, the creator, or a link)
  3. Your name, address, phone number, and email
  4. A statement that you have a good-faith belief the use is not authorized by the owner, its agent, or the law
  5. A statement, under penalty of perjury, that the information in your notice is accurate and that you are the owner or authorized to act for the owner
  6. Your physical or electronic signature

If your content was removed and you believe that was a mistake, you can send a counter-notice to the same address. We remove content and end the accounts of repeat infringers where appropriate.
